Nathalie M. Delzenne is a full professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at UCL. She has a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences (UCL) and holds a certificate in Human Nutrition (University of Lausanne). She co-directs the Metabolism and Nutrition Research group within the Louvain Drug Research Institute where her research activity in experimental nutrition concerns nutrient-intestinal microbiota interactions in different physiopathological contexts (obesity, diabetes, cachexia, nutritional and behavioral disorders).

She is the author of more than 250 publications and is active in numerous international and national research consortia (KBBE MyNewGut of the 7th framework program of the EC, FOOD4GUT Excellence Project of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation). She has obtained several scientific prizes, she is a founding member and currently chairs the Belgian Nutrition Society, is a member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium, a member of the Scientific Council of the European Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, of the European Center for Nutrition and Health, of the Food and Health Group of the Higher Council of Health in Belgium.
