Elena Cubero-Leon
Dr Cubero-Leon holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Sussex (UK). She has worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Environmental Toxicology and Food Safety projects at various institutions, including the University of Sussex (UK), University of Le Havre (France), and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.
She currently works in the “Food and Feed Compliance Unit” at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, where she manages the European Network for food Allergen Detection Laboratories (ENFADL). The ENFADL aims to promote standardization in food allergen analysis and a harmonized approach on measuring and reporting food allergens across EU Member States. She has over 15 years of experience in organic mass spectrometry. In her current role she also develops methods to detect and quantify food allergens and organizes proficiency testing rounds for food control laboratories.
