Elaine E. Vaughan
Elaine leads Health Science and Regulatory Affairs at Sensus, where she integrates scientific evidence with regulatory rigor to support human health. She earned her PhD in dairy microbiology and carbohydrate metabolism at University College Cork, Ireland, followed by a Marie Curie fellowship at NIZO in the Netherlands and research roles at the Nestlé Research Center in Switzerland. Returning to the Netherlands, she served as assistant professor at Wageningen University and senior scientist at the Top Institute Food & Nutrition, leading PhD and postdoctoral teams in pre/probiotic and gut microbiomics research. She later rejoined industry to advance scientific insights and translate technological developments into healthy food concepts. Since 2014, Elaine has focused on prebiotic inulin and other ingredients influencing human health, publishing extensively, including several papers with ILSI Europe.
