Bruno Pot graduated from Ghent University, Belgium, and subsequently carried out postdoctoral research on lactic acid bacteria. In 1997, he joined Yakult as Science Manager for the Benelux region. Between 2001 and 2016, he served as Research Director at the Institut Pasteur de Lille and as Director of Business Development at the bioinformatics company Applied Maths. Since 2016, Bruno has returned to Yakult, where he holds the position of Science Director Europe.
He is a member of the Taxonomic Subcommittee for Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, a former President of the Pharmabiotic Research Institute, a former ISAPP Board member, and Treasurer of ILSI-Europe. He has also been a Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel since 2001, teaching courses in food microbiology.
