Dr. Arthur Ouwehand is a Technical Fellow at International Flavors and Fragrances (Finland). Arthur received his M.Sc. degree in 1992 from Wageningen University (The Netherlands) and his Ph.D. degree in 1996 in microbiology from the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). Since 1999, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Turku (Finland). He has been working for IFF (formerly DuPont and Danisco) since 2004.
Arthur is Chairman of the ILSI Europe Probiotic Task Force and Co-Chair of the IPA Postbiotics Committee, and he is an active member of ISAPP and IDF. He is the author of more than 300 journal articles and book chapters on probiotics and prebiotics, and the editor of five books on lactic acid bacteria and the intestinal microbiota.
